Write a Thank you letter with style

Sending a personalized Thank you letter can be used
to make most out of the after-interview stage. Most of the employers don’t think
about candidates who fail their interview but you can make difference in that
common practice by sending a Thank you letter after going through an interview
phase.  Timely sent and properly drafted Thank you letter can put you in the
interviewer’s watch list.

You need to send Thank you letter on time,
preferably within 24 hours after the interview. If you take long period to send
your thanks then your action will be considered as a binding
afterthought.

Make your point clear in the beginning of the
letter saying that this is a letter to say sincere thanks for the opportunity
given to you. Use same heading and name as it were in your resume and cover
letter. Make your Thank you letter clear and concise only highlighting the
meeting with the interviewer.

A thank you letter is always written to a person,
not to the organization. Use proper salutation to address the person. You have
to write a customized letter for the specific interview, so avoid using generic
letters.

You can use your Thank you letter as a second
chance to present your case. Mention your ability to work overtime or special
skills which you could not explain at the time of the interview. Use only one or
two sentences for this purpose. Your Thank You letter is a diplomatic way to
reach the employer
